Geek alert!
I had no idea I was living on Tatooine* - especially with all that water. But look - a double sunset!!! It's a new hope ;)
I didn't photoshop this... I didn't move the camera while taking the shot... I didn't double exposure it... it just happened! I didn't see it with the naked eye either. It is what the camera saw at Elkhorn Slough in Moss Landing, CA.
I hope someone can explain to me what it is... it doesn't look like a sundog.

*For the non-geeks... that's a Star Wars reference... you know, where Luke is gazing at the sunset across thedesert moisture farm? It's a classic image.

Nice shot, did you have a clear filter on your lens? Reflections often happen when shooting into the sun.
Arija - YES...clear filter, check. That must have been it! You're a genius... now I must go try to duplicate that many times over :) Thanks!
Thanks Ms Hays for both compliments! The kitties are so cute it's impossible to not get a cute picture :D
Thanks Louise!
LOL Leedra... too true. Thanks!
Wow, that's neat!
We watched that movie while we were home with the intention of watching all of them. But all of that cold, country air just did us in each night. Maybe next year.
LOL... that's the good thing about it. You can watch it year after year after year and it never gets old.
I don't know what it is, Red. But that's a fantastic sunset. So vivid!
Thanks Mary!
I agree that it's conveniently-placed lens flare - a lovely photo that really captures the texture of Moss Landing!
Thanks Adam :)
The sky was soft, the water pretty still and the brush, brushy ;) It was great the way the misty air combined with the sun made the power stacks almost transluscent.
