in like a lion!

Well, Northern California sure is following that old saying. In fact, nearly every year it does, but the trick is to guess if it starts like a lion or a lamb. I would have guessed we were going to have "in like a lamb" this year, but I would have been dead wrong.

But it makes for cool skies...

Yesterday there was quite a variation in the types of clouds all at once.

All fit to share for Skywatch Friday #34

Tatooine? - Sky Watch Friday

Geek alert!

I had no idea I was living on Tatooine* - especially with all that water. But look - a double sunset!!! It's a new hope ;)

I didn't photoshop this... I didn't move the camera while taking the shot... I didn't double exposure it... it just happened! I didn't see it with the naked eye either. It is what the camera saw at Elkhorn Slough in Moss Landing, CA.

I hope someone can explain to me what it is... it doesn't look like a sundog.

*For the non-geeks... that's a Star Wars reference... you know, where Luke is gazing at the sunset across the desert moisture farm? It's a classic image.
