Well, at least I managed to have IDs for more birds than not, lol! I swear, I'm no birder, but I do like to be correct in identifying whatever my subject is and lately I've been taking more bird pictures than anything else because I'm still looking for that National Geographic type shot :)
If you want to try to help me ID these, just click on the pics to make them larger. Perhaps it'll help, perhaps not.
This shot below I only have an inkling it may be a Shearwater - perhaps Flesh-footed or Sooty Shearwater, but really, I don't know and don't know if it's possible to tell based on this photo.
I don't know what this is, but it's an interesting picture. Quite a wingspan this bird has.
I guess this is a gull. Not sure what kind though. I like the colors and the reflection of it in contrast with the green of the reeds and grasses.
With my mom's help, we figure this is a tern. What tern? I don't know. Elegant Terns are common this time of year in this area according to a Santa Cruz County birding guide we were given in our goodie bag. Great goodies by the way! I was very impressed.
Same tern:
I kept this image full-scale so if anyone likes to ID various gulls, have at it! lol :D Looks like juvies and adults but chances are more than one type of gull mixed in with these pelicans.

I'm gonna take a stab at some of these just to get started. You might want to send these photos or a link to this post to Charlie (at 10,000 Birds). I think the first one is a Sooty Shearwater. As for the tern, it's too far away. The gull, not sure which species, is a juvie (first year or second year) gull. I think that's all I can come up with. I do hope others will try to help ID some of them.
