One year ago today, Kody had to be put down because he was diagnosed with terminal cancer and had only a few days to a few weeks to live. Sweet dog. He had his annoying habits, but we didn't get him as a puppy so these these were hard to break. We adopted him from Bay Area Siberian Husky Rescue and Referral in late 2002 and he was 5 years old at the time.
Kodiak was born in January of 1997, coincidentally a few months younger than my brother's husky, Redd. We don't really know what kind of a life he led before we got him, but at first he connected with only me and it took a very long time for him to warm up to my Dad. But eventually he totally trusted and adored my dad after having trusted just about everyone else including strangers. He was a great dog, we even trained him not to go after the cats, so we had no problem having 4 cats and Kody in the house together unattended.
He's missed, but there are so many cool memories. Check out the slideshow below.

Thanks Mom :)
And thank you Carrot! Welcome back from Spring Break!
Red,
This is a wonderful tribute and slide show for a beautiful Husky. He'll always be with you.
